Christmas in Longview, part II

We started a tradition of baking brownies on Christmas Eve. Edan did a great job helping mix the batter.

We had Christmas Dinner on Christmas Eve at Nana and Papa D.'s house. Edan had fun hanging out (and on!) with Papa D.

She spent a good part of the day dancing on the counter at Nana and Papa's house. Nana thought it was so cute and followed her back and forth to make sure she didn't fall!

What's New

Edan continues to be completely fascinated by nature. She loves to climb tree's, play in water, go hiking, look for bugs, dig in the dirt with her "shogel" (shovel), watch birds and watch animal documentaries. We spent a weekend at the beach and her favorite part was looking for animals in the tide pool. She also went in the freezing ocean and had a blast. I stayed dry and warm and waited for the crazy people to get out of the water so I could give them towels! Edan has had a good time helping me plant the garden and plant flower seeds. She puts the seeds every where so we will see where everything come up! She is talking a lot and is really into telling us what she "likes" or "no likes." "I like snuggle," "I like Poppa," and "I no like big day" are recent examples. She can identify a variety of animals and enjoys telling us about them. She has a very vivid description of how a t-rex kills it's prey that she likes to share frequently. She learned it from watching a dinosaur documentary. She has a bit of a temper, so we have been teaching her deep breathing and how to calm herself down. She now tells us "I like breathe" and "I calm now." She is becoming very social and loves to spend time with the family. Over the weekend she lead us all in singing "Twinkle, Twinkle," "Row your boat" and "Itsy Bitsy Spider." So, its fun times in the McNabb Clark household!
